ANNOUNCEMENTS

TALHO

LOCAL ACTS: HIGHLIGHTING INNOVATION IN LOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH

Does your local health department have a unique way to address a public health issue or need in the community? Public Health Reports (www.publichealthreports.org), the official journal of the U.S. Public Health Service, encourages local health officials and other LHD staff members to submit manuscripts for a column called "Local Acts", which highlights local public health initiatives, programs, resources, practices, or tools that demonstrate exemplary and replicable qualities. Such practices may include creative marketing campaigns, targeted legal action under local health codes, unusual agreements with the private sector, productive collaborations with local entities such as schools, or any other innovative way to address a public health issue or need in the community. We encourage you to share your LHD's success with your public health colleagues across the country. See this pdf file for information on how to submit an article to the official Journal of the U.S. Public Health Service.

TALHO would also like the opportunity to share these articles with its membership! Please forward any such articles by clicking here. Thank you!
