THE JANET EMERSON PUBLIC HEALTH SERVANT AWARD
This annual award serves as a living memorial to Janet Emerson, who served her community as Chief Executive Director of the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District from 1983 until medical retirement in August 2004. During her tenure, Janet successfully responded to many public health issues with her strength of will, affection, judgment, idealism, and achievement that will last a lifetime.
Since 2006, TALHO has been honored to present the Janet Emerson Public Health Servant Award to the following, deserving recipients:

Charles Pruski (San Antonio Metropolitan Health District)
H. Mark Guidry, MD, MPH (Galveston County Health District)
